Debbie Stone: Birmingham Civil Rights Trail
Travel writer Debbie Stone talks about her journey through history along the Birmingham Civil Rights Trail, in Alabama. The Birmingham Civil Rights National Monument encompasses four city blocks of downtown Birmingham, preserving the landmarks of the American civil rights movement that served as the headquarters for a civil rights campaign in the spring of 1963. Known as "Project C" for confrontation, this civil rights campaign challenged unfair laws designed to limit the freedoms of African Americans and ensure racial inequality.
