Beauregard Museum in DeRitter, Louisiana - Elona Weston and Marci Cook on Big Blend Radio
This episode of Big Blend Radio showcases the Beauregard Museum in historic downtown DeRidder, Louisiana. The museum is housed in the second Kansas City Southern Depot, built in 1926. A repository of Beauregard Parish history, the museum’s exhibits and collections feature handmade tools, artifacts from the timber industry, old photographs, Native American arrowheads and pottery, military memorabilia, antique furniture, and musical instruments, plus, a stainless-steel caboose in the courtyard.
This interview was recorded on-location as part of Big Blend’s Love Your Parks Tour, and features museum director Elona Weston, and Marci Cook from the Vernon Parish Tourism Commission.
